What Valtro is — and what it is not

Kitchen management and inventory remain outside Valtro Pay. Existing systems can be connected through separate interfaces, but they are not required for Valtro Pay.

Do guests need an app or an account?
No. The payment page opens directly in the mobile browser after scanning. Guests do not need to register or install anything.
Does a POS system need to be connected first?
No. Valtro Pay also works without a POS interface through the admin area. Separate integrations are available for ready2order and Lightspeed K-Series; SumUp can be connected as a payment and terminal solution. The exact feature set depends on API access and approval from the respective provider.
Where does the money go?
Directly into the restaurant or bar’s connected Stripe or Mollie merchant account. Valtro Pay does not receive the bill amount first or forward it later.
Which payment providers are supported?
Valtro Pay supports Stripe and Mollie. The business chooses its provider and connects an existing or new merchant account. Payments can start once the provider has approved the account.
Do QR codes need to be reprinted after every guest?
No. Each table receives a permanent QR code that is linked on the server to the current table session and bill.
What happens if a payment fails?
The reserved amount is released and the bill remains open unchanged. The guest can try again or call staff from the page.
How long does setup take?
It depends on the business — the schedule is agreed during personal setup rather than using a fixed timeframe.
What does the pilot programme cost?
30 calendar days from the confirmed start date: 0 € setup, 0 € base fee and 0 % Valtro fee. Only the selected payment provider’s Stripe or Mollie fees apply.
What is included in the pilot programme?
Setup for one venue, table QR codes, all payment and splitting features, the optional ordering module, menu photo import, reporting, and personal support for the first payments. No special new hardware is required.
What happens after the pilot programme?
The pilot ends after 30 calendar days. It does not renew automatically or switch automatically to a paid plan. The business explicitly chooses whether to book Starter, Pro, or Business. Without a plan agreement, pilot access ends.
Is there a minimum term?
No — plans remain cancellable monthly after the pilot.
Can guests also order through the QR code?
Yes, if enabled. Ordering is a free optional module included with every plan. Each business enables it individually; otherwise guests only see their bill. Every order first appears in the admin area and only becomes a billing item after staff approval.
Do I need to type out the menu?
No. Photograph the menu with a phone and items, prices, and allergen footnotes are read into a list of suggestions. Only confirmed entries are imported. For later price changes, take another photo and Valtro Pay shows what changed.
